Is the XP Blue Screen Error Any
Different?
Although Windows XP operating system seemed to solve the problem of a stable operating system,
it did not solve the problem of the blue screen of death. As a matter of fact, this error is just the same as in
the case of the rest of the Windows operating systems. It may be caused by all kinds of things like corrupt
software or hardware. Still, Windows XP has brought some new problems, this operating system being more sensitive
when installed than the previous systems. It does not allow any interference or any error, no matter how little or
apparently insignificant, because this would lead to the appearance of the XP blue screen of death.
This error also occurs when you start your computer, mainly because of malicious files or driver
problems. Also, it may occur because of a piece of hardware which does not work properly in the boot up sequence.
Unfortunately, there are so many things causing the XP blue screen error that it is very difficult to identify the
exact cause and sometimes, you just have to restart the system in order for it to get back to normal functioning
conditions.
What determines blue screens of death to occur in the case of Windows XP operating systems?
Well, there are generally five causes of this fatal error. There may appear software errors while Windows operates,
because of the fact that newly installed drivers or pieces of software may be corrupted and have problems, this
leading to a constant or accidental blue screen of death or BSoD as it is also known.
A second cause would be different hardware errors while the Windows operating system functions,
meaning that the blue screen of death appears in the case of malfunctioning hardware, of hardware removal during
the functioning of the operating system or if the hardware is not appropriate for the expected XP operations. Just
as well, the XP blue screen error can be caused by old BIOS data.
As the blue screen of death occurs when the operating system is confronted with certain errors, these errors can
also be installation ones. In fact, these are the most dangerous when it comes to XP operating system, because it
is very sensitive to any hardware or disk error. If the configuration of your computer or the media is not alright,
then the chances for you to escape a blue screen of death are very little.
Like mentioned earlier, start up errors are also a cause, as corrupted drivers, system files and
hardware can prevent the system from booting like it should. In these cases, it is highly probable that the system
must deal with troubleshooting. Last but not least, there are also intermittent errors, starting from defective
system memory, dead hard drive, dying hard drive, overheated processor or bad software and drivers.
In the end, it appears that the XP blue screen error is not so different from the one we can
come across if using older versions of Windows operating systems, but nevertheless, it is very important to know
how to deal with it and not panic when it occurs. Since most of the causes are the same, the ways to fix this error
are also very similar to the ones known for the usual blue screens of death.
